Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be yours in abundance.
We responded to God’s call to mobilize his people, Tanzanians and friends, all over the world to get on our knees and pray for Tanzania. As a result, a prayer movement was birthed on February 11, 2015. Tanzania Global Prayer Movement (TGPM) is a group of Tanzanians and friends worldwide individually impressed upon their hearts by their Heavenly Father to pray for Tanzania so that our country we love and the people we cherish can be transformed by the power of the resurrected Jesus Christ. The mission and mandate of TGPM are very clear. Click Here to see the Mission Statement and Vision Statement.
2015 is a year earmarked for a change of season for Tanzania as a country and as people, and it will never be the same. The new constitution and a general election are a proof of it. Shaping the new season for Tanzania depends on all of us who call Jesus our Lord and Savior. For the state of the country right now, only a Hand of God can give us an assurance for a better future for this generation and future generations to come. That's why God is calling all Tanzanians and friends worldwide to pray fervently with diligence, focus and intensity than never before. Why? The stakes are just too high! God is acalling all of us to discern the times and NEVER miss the opportunity like what happened to Israelites who failed to discern times and ended up staying in bondage for 430 years instead of 390 years.
TGPM is not a political movement; instead it is a spiritual movement. Our main agenda is to PRAY !!. We don't provide a platform to discuss political views to find out who is right or wrong. However, we are open to receive any political news, problems or scandals. Once we get such information, two things happen. First, we verify the authenticity of such information from our reliable sources. Secondly, Once the information is verified, we transform it into prayer points for our group to pray. For example, the Tegeta Escrow scandal. After verifying such information and found out it was true, we created prayer points and put under a major category of prayer themes called corruption. Now in our prayer, we focus on the evil behind such an act of corruption (John 10:10) and not the individuals involved. Should the Holy Spirit impress upon us to pray for the corrupt individuals, we pray for repentance and blessings. We pray for the Holy Spirit to convict their hearts and bring them into repentance so that they can get right with God. The Bible forbids us to condemn the individuals involved in the corruption scandal.
2 Chronicles 7:14 says … “IF my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land”. As we pray and seek His face, we will do so boldly as Hebrews 4:16 reminds us, “Lets us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need”.
We do understand that the Devil will do everything to frustrate these efforts because he is aware of the outcome. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). But rejoice because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).
It is important to note that TGPM is not about or for any of us; it is about and for all of the Tanzanians and friends wherever they are. It is all about the cry for our loving God to heal our beloved country and its beautiful people.
It is our prayer that you will be excited to know that TGPM is for you too. Please join TGPM and invite more people be part of TGPM. The main Scriptures guiding TGPM are as follows:
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV):
IF my people [the Tanzanians], who are called by my Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my Face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal the land of Tanzania.
Jeremiah 31:9 (ESV):
With weeping, the Tanzanians shall come, and with pleas for mercy I will lead them back, I will make them walk by brooks [rivers] of water, in a straight path in which they shall not stumble, for I am a father of all Tanzanians.
Proverbs 29:2 (AMP):
When the [uncompromisingly] righteous are in authority in Tanzania, the people rejoice; but when the wicked man rules, the people groan and sigh.
